Durham's Hollie Babut (27', 36', 49') scored a hat-trick with both Rachel Hoekstra (17', 31') and Laura Gosse (33', 58') each scoring braces on the way to an unexpected 7-0 blowout over home side Woodbridge Strikers.

"First of all I just want to thank coach Dave [Porco] from Woodbridge and his team," said Durham head coach, Ramin Mohammadi.

"I have a lot of respect for them and they did what they needed to do. We all go through the same problem at times."

"From our point of view, we have been working on some things in recent weeks and there has been a lot of transition but I think we have built a positive environment for them and that is the result. I think it was a very successful day and I'm happy with it."

Both coaches honed in on the performances of individuals in their team to highlight, although for Woodbridge it was a bitter-sweet night and attention is already turning to their upcoming L1 Cup Final on August 6.

"Lindsay who played centre-back stood out," said Woodbridge head coach David Porco. "Becca who I put in the midfield worked really hard. A few of the girls worked really hard but it was tough."

"Next week we will probably have a new set of players again, except I am trying to get my best eleven to play in the L1 Cup final against London. London is a very good team and if I don't come with my best team we won't have a chance."

"The youngest players we brought up today, Mackenzie [Cabral-Rauti], Emma [Chisholm], Simone [Chiodo] - they all did fantastic - and the senior players were fantastic as well," concluded Durham's Mohammadi.

"The team just followed instruction and regardless of result we are very happy with the performance."

Woodbridge Strikers will next play FC London on July 30 at Vaughan Grove, Woodbridge.

Durham United FA will next play West Ottawa SC on July 28 at Kinsmen Park, Pickering.
