North Mississauga Panthers put on a clinic at the expense of Darby FC on Matchweek 13, winning 12-1 by the final whistle.

North Miss went up goals early and tended to score them in bunches, registered either by the clock or an individual player's goal column.

"Well, obviously it [Darby] is a pretty young team, but we did what we had to do," said North Mississauga assistant coach, Trevor Bertrand.

"We built it up and we are chasing for first place. Goal differential can make a huge difference when it comes down to it."

"Another good thing [as well] is that we had Cassie get her third hat-trick in three games," he added.

Three North Miss players scored hat-tricks on the day, including Laura Twidle (32', 46', 55'), Cassandra Briscoe (45', 59', 72') and Cat Rodgers (28', 66', 69'), while Jenny Wolever (6', 53') finished two and Maria Poveda (62') scored a single.

Darby's Giulia Giovinazzi (77' pen.) finished the scoring for the day with a well-taken penalty mid-way through the second half, but it was slim consolation for the losing side.

"It was a learning experience for us, with a lot of young girls coming through to get some League1 experience against a very good side," said Darby assistant coach, Graeme Burns.

"We take the positive out of that and we move on from it and we will come out next week with a better result, hopefully."

North Mississauga Panthers will next play Unionville Milliken SC on July 29 at Hershey Centre, Mississauga.

Darby FC will next play Aurora FC on July 29 at St. Maximillion Kolbe H.S., Aurora.
