Oakville Blue Devils claimed another comprehensive victory on Matchweek 11 after Anthony Novak (27', 47', 50') scored a hat-trick, Matt Santos (44') and Logan Podrebarac (64') got singles, and keeper Matt George kept the clean sheet en route to a 5-0 win over Toronto Skillz.

With the win firmly in the bag, Oakville cycled through their run of substitutes on the hour and began to look forward to upcoming fixtures.

"We have two big games coming up against Woodbridge and Vaughan, two big cross-divisional games, and we wanted to make sure everyone is getting some football, getting a share of what we're doing," explained Oakville head coach, Duncan Wilde. 

Tensions boiled over late in the match as Toronto Skillz' Andre Simmond (84') and Adam Waithe (85') were dismissed for violent conduct.

"I thought we did [control our emotions]," said Wilde. "It was them that took the two red cards for violent conduct and I don't think we took a card today."

"It's difficult though, we are two teams that are at opposite ends of the table and we dealt with that frustration a bit last year," he added. 

"It gets frustrating when you're not getting your points but you just try and give the right advice to your players and hope they are listening to you."

Toronto Skillz are still without a point after 11 matches, but head coach Leslie "Tiger" Fitzpatrick explained that results are not the first order of priority for the organization at this time.

"Our modus operandi from the start is to build for the long view," said Fitzpatrick.

"Essentially we got into this league so we had a platform to move players on. The way we look at it, our three starting midfielders from last year were moved into Europe or the U.S. and that took a lot away from us on the pitch this season."

"We have another player moving into Europe in the next week or so, and so for us we are doing what we wanted to do, but when you take this approach - the results will take a hit. We have to stay positive and try to put a good product on the field. In spurts we are showing that but it's about trying to get that consistency and not just going into the tank."

"Other teams deserve good games when we play them and the ones coming through deserve the chance to have the opportunities that the ones before them have had." 

Toronto Skillz will next play North Mississauga Panthers on July 23 at Birchmount Stadium, Scarborough.

Oakville Blue Devils will next play Woodbridge Strikers on July 16 at Sheridan College, Oakville.
