Jade Kovacevic (38', 61', 63', 89') ensured she stayed top of the scoring race after a four-goal haul over Darby FC combined with a brace by teammate Marisa Oliviera (62', 73') handed FC London a dominant 6-0 win over the visitors.

"I give full credit to my team," said FC London head coach, Mike Marcoccia. "Darby are not an easy squad, they have some very good qualities and there were several things that they did really well tonight too."

"But there were moments where the individual quality and team chemistry of some of our players took over and you saw it," he added. "They were crazy for about three minutes there, and that has nothing to do with coaching. That's all the players."

Jade Kovacevic brought her total to 13 on the season, almost double the tally of her nearest competition in the Golden Boot race.

"Jade is a top player and when she is in form she will do that on a nightly basis and I think everyone knows that," said Marcoccia.

"Having said that, Jade knows more than anyone that her job is to do that at the very end of ten, twelve pass moves. One goal today was straight from the keeper in the box and was moved around through the whole team. Jade finishes the job when all the pieces are together."

Marcoccia highlighted the work of another player in his team, keeper Emily Gillet.

"I think the craziest thing for me is not just the goals today but this was the third or fourth shutout in a row for my keeper in both league and Cup play," he said.

"Obviously people will look at the scoreboard, but that is four shutouts in a row in a top, top league like this one - it's outstanding."

Darby assistant coach Stuart Robertson wasn't happy with the final result, especially after a similarly one-sided loss to Woodbridge in the matchweek previous.

"The first half we had good discipline when we were defending and then we lost some composure," he explained.

"With teams like London, if you lose composure it is hard to get it back. London smelled blood and then it was like sharks in the water, that was the end for us."

"That is the last two games we have lost on the wrong end of big scorelines and we need to put that behind us now and move on to a big game next week against the Blizzard," he concluded.

"The Blizzard started the matchweek just below us in the standings so it will be a big match that we need to be ready for."

FC London will next play Durham United FA on July 15 at the Pickering Soccer Complex, Pickering.

Darby FC will next play Toronto Azzurri Blizzard on July 16 at Azzurri Village Main, Toronto.
