High velocity wind turned the Matchweek 11 battle between North Mississauga Panthers and Durham United FA into a game of two halves as Durham's Hollie Babut (8') scored once with the wind at the back in the first half, before the Panthers' Cassandra Briscoe (66', 71', 88') took over with a hat-trick in the second frame.

"Obviously we had a strategy going into the second half because we knew that wind would be a factor today," said North Mississauga assistant coach, Trevor Bertrand.

"The thinking was to pressure them inside their defensive third of the field and as you can see we got two goals from pressure."

"We never say quit," he added. "We fight to the end, even when we are down."

"We are coming off about three or four ties, so we will welcome this win."

In their first match under new management, Durham United FA showed signs of adjustment. Still, incoming head coach Ramin Mohammadi was happy with what he saw.

"There were a number of factors," he said. "We have some transition right now as we have changed the coaching staff, but I thought they did a fantastic job."

"We had a short bench, it was a hot day, but beside that it is all psychological. I'm happy with what they did."

There was absolutely an advantage for the team with the wind at their back today, but overall in football there is a lot of advantage and disadvantage and as a player you have to go through it," he added.

"These are a bunch of professional players, they have all played high level. We won't have to  work on a lot [in training] to respond before next match, just tactical and teamwork aspects, that's about it."

North Mississauga Panthers will next play Aurora FC on July 15 at St. Maximillian Kolbe H.S., Aurora.

Durham United FA will next play FC London on July 15 at Pickering Soccer Complex, Pickering.
