Oakville Blue Devils ran up the score early on opponents Pro Stars FC on Matchweek Seven, with Khody Ellis (9') opening the account within ten minutes and 2015 League1 Ontario Golden Boot winner Felipe Vilela (15', 22', 38', 90') finding form with four on the day. Matthew Santos (34') added his third of the season to make it a 5-1 final.

"[Vilela's] best year was 2015 when he was the Golden Boot winner of course," said Oakville Blue Devils head coach, Duncan Wilde.

"Then we made a lot of changes last year and never really provided for him. That's actually the first game he has played out at full striker this season. We've been playing him a little bit deeper."

"But everyone in the league knows that Felipe is quality and if you don't do your job on him he is going to score goals. They couldn't hold him today, and he hit form. Everything he hit seemed to go in the back of the net so good for him and good for us."

Silas Obeng (27') did pull one back for Pro Stars in the first half, but it wasn't enough to stop the onslaught on the host's net, despite some positive play in the second half and by certain Pro Stars attackers.

"In the first half we started a very very young squad, believe it or not for four or five guys it was their first game," said Pro Stars coach Stiven Mikhail.

"Coordination then was a real concern for us and that was something that failed us in the first half. Of course, an organized team like Oakville will just rip that apart and that is what happened in the first half."

Despite the one-sided scoreline, Mikhail was impressed with two of his attackers.

"Jack [Crawford] just came back from about eight months playing in Europe," he said. "He learned a lot and is very very good in the air. He's very physical and knows how to read a defender. Every player has their faults but with Jack there are very few."

"In addition I felt from the first minute to the ninetieth that Kibwe Dyer was our only player that never stopped going," he added. "Some of the things he does are not possible. The first goal we scored he went one against four and beat all four. Although he wasn't the one that ended up putting it in, for me it was his goal."

Oakville's Wilde was happy with his side's performance, and with such a commanding lead he was able to get all players through the match and secure valuable game time.

"We said at half-time that we thought we had lost Chris Mitchell to an injury that looks long-term and we wanted to make sure we didn't lose anyone else so I think we made all of our changes within the first fifteen minutes," he explained.

"I think we got the whole bench in and we just wanted to get everyone some game time. Our thinking at half-time was that we didn't really need to score again. We were happy with 5-1 as anyone would be and we got another one at the end."

"We were never in any danger from start to finish and I thought we got some absolute quality goals in the first half, some of the best goals we've scored. It's a difficult field to play on, it's very big, long grass and not the best to play good football, but we got through it, did our job, got the three points and have a happy locker room."

Pro Stars FC will next play North Toronto Nitros on June 17 at Avondale Stadium, Brampton.

Oakville Blue Devils will next play OSU Force on June 18 at Sheridan Trafalgar College Stadium, Oakville.
