Windsor TFC went down a goal to FC London, and to ten men as well, in Matchweek Six, but still managed to come back to secure a point after a 1-1 final.

"I'm not really satisfied," said Windsor head coach, Zibby Piatkiewicz.

"The boys played really well in the first half and in the second half we had one mistake and it cost us. I will take 1-1 on the road though, that's for sure."

Windsor TFC CB Dredon Kelly received his second caution of the match at 46', after a physical and demanding first half that found both sides going strong into tackle.

FC London's Mohammed Nafar (55') opened the scoring just after the break, but Windsor remained dangerous and Patrick Sikora (64') equalized for the visitors.

"I had to drop and play the counter attack," said Piatkiewicz. "It worked out well and all these drills that we do during the practices showed up here today. How we defend in practice is how we defended here today, so hopefully we will continue to defend like this."

"This is what we have been working on for the last month and a half and you can see the effect now, he added.

"Now we need to work on moving forward and finding more scoring opportunities when we are at full strength, which we weren't today of course. It was lopsided in the second half for attacking chances, but I'm satisfied. You could see all the players were working hard and that's all I can ask for each game and hopefully we will move forward and build from that."

Despite hitting the woodwork on several occasions, neither side could find the finish needed to take home all three points.

"We had enough chances to win this game, we just didn't score," said London assistant coach, Eddie Schmidt.

"We hit the crossbar two times, we had chances at the end of the game, they were dead. The boys played perfectly today in terms of what we want. We controlled the game, despite some periods of play in the first half maybe, but we had control all the time."

"Of course one counter can always happen, and you can see Windsor has some very good players. Even under pressure they can still see the pass and combine. They have very good players, and passionate players that as we can see gave everything on the field, but our boys did exactly what we wanted to do. They pinned them back in their box, they were very patient, and they had the shots on goal."

"I think not many teams would have created as many chances as we had in the last minutes because we were patient."

FC London will next play Sigma FC on Saturday JUne 10 at Hershey Centre, Mississauga.

Windsor TFC will next play Toronto FC III on Saturday June 10 at University of Windsor Stadium, Windsor.
