Woodbridge Strikers went to Kingston and came back with an impressive 6-0 result after a hat-trick from Stephen Almeida (22', 75', 90') and singles from Andrew Derayeh (16'), Tyrese Edwards (30') and Richard Parker (69').

Woodbridge's clean sheet was shared by Matt George (81') and Nicholas Frenati (9').

"I felt the game went well, especially after coming a long way from Toronto," said Almeida.

"Coming back from a three game suspension, I thought I did pretty well, and the boys gave me good passes and assists to get me that hat-trick."

Despite the result, Woodbridge were officially ruled out of the running for the east division title as Vaughan clinched the title with a 5-0 result over Toronto Skillz in Vaughan. Still head coach Peter Pinizzotto had plenty of positives to think about from his match.

"We only had six players from our original roster here today, but with lots of youth it really shows the depth at our club," he said.

"We played a good brand of soccer today, but this game was a lot easier than I thought. Having said that, I also know that Kingston was missing a lot of their players."

Despite the heavy loss, Kingston coach Bob Minor also found positives to observe.

"Odd as it may sound, at times, we moved the ball better than we have done over the last few weeks," he said.

"We weren't despondent at half-time, but happy with our level of play, and I didn't think we were overrun."

"The difference, going forward, their quality of attacking was a level or two higher than we were able to offer, and it showed in their chances."

"I'm not unhappy with the way the guys played today."
