Sanjaxx Lions manufactured an impressive second half comeback to take down Masters FA Saints 3-2 in matchweek twelve, after late goals from Rodrigo Libaque (63'), Luke Mellon (80') and La'el Daniel (90+) won the day.

"I'm very proud of them," said Sanjaxx head coach, Peter Mellon.

"It's good to see them at the end of the game with smiles on their faces. It's long deserved."

"They've been working hard in training and they didn't get the run of the game in other games that we've played. We didn't have a particularly good start, but in the second half we came out and it showed that we really wanted it. It's great to see them play in that way, similar to what we see on the training ground. It all came together and it was credit to them."

Masters appeared to have the right start, with Alex Dimitriu (18') opening the scoring inside the first twenty minutes. Tyrell Rayne (69') got the team's second nearly an hour later, and Masters technical director Junior Groves explained why the team lost steam.

"I would say that the players that started did well, and we made some changes that were not effective to the team," said Groves. "I think the players that we started played the way we wanted tactically and did very very well."

"I think we are on a new path, and it is good to see, but we are still haunted by the simple mistakes that we make. For example, today we shouldn't have lost the midfield at the point and time that we did."

Sanjaxx found space in the middle and increasingly began to exploit central positions to launch attacks as the match drew on. Mellon was proud of his side's tactical nous on the day.

"In the first half we sat too deep, we allowed them too much time on the ball, and we weren't playing our game," he said. "We developed a plan in the second half and made a couple of changes, and then tactically we decided that it would be in our interest to look at being creative in the final third, which led to the equalizer, and the third goal as well."

"We train high pressing regularly, and today we came out with a plan and put it all together. They initiated the plan and it came to fruition. I'm really pleased with the lads."
