Windsor Stars gave Masters FA a difficult night at the Ontario Soccer Centre after running up an 8-2 scoreline over their hosts.

"I think practices are a lot better, and we are coming together better now," said Windsor goalkeeper, Kyle Vizarakis. "We've had some ups and downs throughout the season, but I think we are becoming more of a unit and are understanding better what a team really means."

The two sides kept it even in the early going with Windsor's Mike Pio (17') and Devonte Brown (22') trading finishes, but the Stars gradually ran away with the half after forward Jumbo Iyowuna (29', 43', 47') put away three goals in 20 minutes.

The Stars Noah Pio (58', 72') added two of his own following the interval, before the Saints' Camarri Johnson (73') pulled on back.

The chance of another Masters comeback, as has been the side's habit in several matches this season, was immediately cancelled out by the dismissal of Brown in the same minute as Johnson's goal.

Masters captain Orville Marcus had some strong words for his teammates in post-match.

"We got out of place when we went down a man in the second half," he said.

"We just did not play well today, because a lot of the mentality in there is to play as individuals and we need to get out of that mentality because it shows on the pitch. We just get beat that way. "

"We need to change our mentality, we need to get back to square one and play as a team and then we will fix things up."

A ten-man Masters could not hold on, and Michael Pio (84') added his second of the night, before Bogdan Suciu (88') piled on the misery with the Stars' eighth of the match.

"In my eyes, I think we've had some rough losses in matches I felt we didn't deserve to lose - particularly in matches against Oakville and Kingston," said Vizarakis.

"I think coming here and getting some confidence was helpful for us."
