Kingston Clipper women got their third consecutive league win and second consecutive clean sheet after a 2-0 result over Sanjaxx Lions on Sunday.

Melissa Harrison (41') and Jackie Tessier (78') took care of the offense with the clean sheet claimed by Megan Edwards.

"I thought the girls put in a good performance today considering the heat and the scrappiness of the game," said Kingston technical director, Chris Eveleigh. "We held firm and grabbed two good goals and three points considering the conditions."

Sanjaxx head coach Laza Lowe was understandably unhappy with the result, and felt the the team played "not well, not well at all." He added that he was "disappointed and felt the girls could have showed a better effort."

With her goal, Kingston's Tessier moves into fourth spot in the women's scoring chart after potting eight goals in seven matches.

Kingston has had an admirable start to their first women's sesaon, cracking the top four with eleven points after the first third of the season.

Kingston faces a tough road trip next, playing league leaders FC London at German Canadian FC Stadium "The Cove," London on July 2 (7:30 p.m.).
