Sigma booked a spot in Sunday August 9 men's L1 Cup final after a formidable 3-1 win over ANB Futbol in the semi-finals.

Chris Nanco scored a brace (17', 62'), while Richmond Laryea (14') added a single for Sigma, while ANB's Daniel Iannacito (25') scored the only goal for the visitors.

SIG: RICHMOND LARYEA

"I thought we had a very good first half and especially a first thirty minutes of the match where we controlled the flow of the match along with creating some very good opportunities," said Sigma head coach, Bobby Smyrniotis.

"The guys were quicker in their motion on and off the ball compared to the past weekend's match with ANB. Early goals are always important in a knockout game such as this one and we were able to score two in the first 20 minutes of the match."

"Key moment was giving up third goal in second half," said ANB assistant coach, Marcelo Almeida. "If contained at two, team could have had a chance since we missed some good chances throughout the game."

ANB: JASON MILLS

Chris Nanco was chosen as the stand-out Sigma player by both sets of coaches, while ANB's Kristofer Michael and Jason Mills were identified as ANB's best on the day.

"Chris was excellent on the day in his first match playing considerable minutes since early June," revealed Smyrniotis. "He is a very important player to us and it has been unfortunate that he has missed the majority of the season but I am very happy he is finding his match fitness and rhythm over the last four matches."

"Chris assisted on our first goal and scored a well placed shot from 18 yards out, making an immediate impact on the match. He continued his good performance throughout the game scoring in the second half and he could have added to that a few more times. All around I was very happy for him and of course that he looks ready to play this Sunday in the L1 Cup final."

ANB: KRISTOFER MICHAEL

"I thought [Jason Mills] was the player that was key for them on the day," he added. "Although their chances came mainly from set pieces, in the run of play he was always looking to get on the ball and bring his team up the field. His combinations were good and provided our back line some challenges."

"For ANB, Kris Michael worked hard and was asked to perform in a position he is not accustomed to," said Almeida. "He led the team on the field and provided support on the defensive line."
