Congratulations to ANB Futbol's Adonijah Reid and Woodbridge Strikers' Jessica Lisi, the 2015 League1 Ontario Young Players of the Year.

Adonijah Reid was only 15 years old when the season kicked off (turned 16 in August), but finished with 20 goals despite coming off the bench for the first few games of the year, missing a couple of games due to injury, and being away with the Canada U20 team for a week in September.

In fact, Reid's 20 goals were enough to earn him joint-honours at the top of the men's division scoring standings as well.

Despite his age, Adonijah proved to be a remarkably poised player in front of goal. His achievements in League1, combined with the attention he has attracted over his years developing in ANB's system and touring abroad with the King City academy, have now led to an extended trial with OGC Nice in France.

Finally, Reid's ability has attracted the attention of Canada U20 head coach Rob Gale, who selected Reid for a recent U20 national team camp, playing two friendly games vs. the United States. Reid was the youngest player selected to the camp, which is in preparation for the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup in Korea.

Just 17 years old, Woodbridge Strikers' Jessica Lisi also ended up topping the goalscoring charts in the women's division, finishing with 21 goals on the season.

A player with a knack for finding all sorts of ways to score goals, Lisi also proved to be a very good playmaker, providing assists on several Strikers' goals this year.

Lisi represented Canada at the U17 level as a 15 year old, winning silver in the CONCACAF U17 Womens Championship in 2013 that was played in Jamaica.

Strikers' head coach, Joe Parolini, said,"Lisi is an excellent dribbler, and not afraid to take players on 1v1, but not selfish. She will make plays; she's a good teammate."
